“Palladio
Virtuel” presents the critical work of one architect, Peter Eisenman,
produced by looking at the work of another. It is little interested in
the accepted narrative, record, dates, facts, or whatever historical
“truth” exists about Andrea Palladio, but rather is a rereading of
Palladio that sheds new light on both historical and contemporary
architecture through in-depth analyses of the drawings Palladio made for
his I Quattro Libri dell'Architettura (The Four Books of Architecture,
1570). Conceptual models and analytic drawings are shown within an
installation that transforms the Yale Architecture Gallery with the
poché of Palladio’s unbuilt Palazzo Della Torre.
